A Storyteller Shaped by the World
K.L.G. Higgs is a science-fantasy author whose work explores identity, inheritance, resilience, and the extraordinary hidden within the familiar. His stories blend imaginative world-building with grounded emotional truth, inviting readers to question what is normal—and what lies beneath.
Global Perspective
Having lived in five countries and traveled across six continents, Higgs draws from a broad cultural lens that informs his storytelling. His academic journey—earning five degrees—reflects a lifelong commitment to curiosity and disciplined learning, even as writing ultimately became his true calling.
Service and Foundation
A U.S. Air Force veteran originally from Miami, Florida, and now based in Homestead, Higgs credits both military discipline and personal setbacks with shaping the resilience that defines his characters and creative voice.
“I write to explore the tension
between the visible and the unseen—
between science and story,
between inheritance and choice.”
The Chronicles of the Abnormals
His debut novel, Chronicles of the Abnormals: Family Ties, emerged from deeply personal inspiration and a belief in the power of legacy. The series introduces readers to a world where inherited abilities test loyalty, identity, and the meaning of family.
Higgs is currently expanding the Abnormals universe and developing future installments in the saga.
Why I Write
I write to explore the tension between the visible and the unseen—between science and story, between inheritance and choice. If my work sparks imagination or reflection, then it has done its job.
